Campaigns Against Romney for VP---What to do?
Hi readers,
I'm sure you have seen today the launch of a campaign to send the message to McCain that they do not want Romney for Vice President. I knew this would start eventually since we have been fighting for Romney for VP since early February. I'm also getting slammed pro Huckabee for VP junk emails. We will need to come back with a strong defense to re-educate to public that is getting fed half truths again. We have completed all the filings for the PAC and can begin accepting contributions and dues to raise the funds to buy ads in newspapers just as this group has done. We'll have the membership side of the site launched very soon. Here is a link to a good article that describes the anti-Romney campaign. http://www.cbn.com/CBNnews/351354.aspx
I would love your Responses on HOW YOU THINK WE SHOULD BE PLANNING TO FIGHT FOR ROMNEY FOR VP AND THE BEST WAYS TO GET MCCAIN'S ATTENTION.

Go to CommittedtoRomney and sign the petition for McCain to invite Mitt to be his running mate! the anti Mitt petition is just full of people extolling the virtues of Mitt... happy day!

I've already signed the petition. The ComMITTedtoRomney people are doing an excellent job with a petition of their own. I am totally devoted to YesMittVP 2008 and also to unitethegop. Yesterday, I faxed the sample letter which states the I would like to see a McCain-Romney ticket to my 2 US Senators. I also mailed a copy to Senator McCain's campaign office. I also mailed copies of the (unitethegop) letter to the RNC along with a note that I would love to continue supporting the RNC,but only after Sen McCain offers Mitt Romney the VP position. Hopefully, Mitt will accept.Go McCain-Mitt 2008 and YESMittVP!!

It is very easy to show the "pro" for Romney and the "con" for Huckabee. We just need to remember that besides the war in Iraq, the number #1/#2 issue(s) facing us is the economy. Can anyone here seriously recommend with a straight face to Sen. McCain or his search committee, that Gov. Huckabee has the necessary qualifications to be VP with his vast experience [using the term loosely!] in the private sector; as he demonstrated on the campaign trail [not!]on how the private markets actually "work." And of course, throughout his many, many years in the private sector making a payroll, answering to stockholders, and his overall inate ability to "turnaround" capital investments and companies, not to mention companies on the brink of bankruptcy, so they can breath new life, even during a slowed economy.
OH! That's right! Wait a minute!! Gov. Huckabee has NEVER been in the private sector, if he has, not for very long. And what free market principals did he support or expound upon during the campaign? Gee? -- ahh... none! Look what he did for Arkansas compared to Gov. Romney's Massachusetts record. When "The National Review" magazine endorsed Romney's candidacy for president in the later half of 2007, they write that Gov. Huckabee's record as governor of Arkansas was by far more "liberal" than Gov. Romney's of Massachusetts."
Now, let me see...which former candidate, [and the GOP's #2 vote getter - second only to McCain] has this type of leadership, business experience and savy, traits that Sen McCain lacks by his own admission; someone who can genuinely compliment the ticket with their strengths, savy, and knowledge of the private sector and can from day one, assist a "President McCain" in implementing a conservative, "free-market based," solution[s] in order to ACTUALLY stimulate the economy, i.e., through tax cuts, immediate and longer periods for capital depreciation allowances; And one individual who has "actually" demonstrated they have the knowledge and understanding of what the REAL solutions are and what "works" in a down or slowed market. Hmmm? I wonder who it could be???
Why! By Jove! I think the GOP gets it! The strongest GOP ticket since Reagan/Bush! M+M= VICTORY IN 2008!
M+M= [McCain + Mitt]

Good post.FOX News also has an article about the ad on Romney. I posted a comment there last night. I'm always looking to express to Sen McCain and to the RNC that Mitt is the candidate.

P.S. By the way, if you don't believe my reasoning, may I suggest several folks who DO support this notion for Romney for VP [besides unitethegop.com]
Newmax article - Former Chief of Staff The Honorable Andy Card
The Weekly Standard - Mr. Fred Barnes
Mr. Karl Rove
President George W. Bush* (Although he has not publicly come out and endorsed Gov. Romney for VP -- the usual media reporting of "aides to the president said today, President Bush supports Mitt Romney as McCain's running mate..." you get the picture.
Thanks!

We, unfortunately are on a "ship of fools" We can and should fight this with all we can, but in the end many ignorant people have been given the power to vote. We should try to educate them if possible.
McCain has been very coy about his pick for VP. I suggest we all do alot of praying along with these faxes and petitions.

Houston, you refer to McCain-Mitt 2008. Is that a website that we could go to? I went to the Yes Mitt for VP petition and signed it. I cannot find a McCain-Mitt site. Can you enlighten me? Thanx everyone for your input. This is how we fight for what we want. My fear is what if McCain feels he is in a tug of war and picks a third party? IT is true there is not one out there as qualified so I hpe that he will not let a tug of war affect him, but one never knows.... KKSM
Go Mitt!!!!!!!

The NoMitt website petition has taken down all the comments and make it appear that all that signed are against Mitt, this is a vicious and vile way this part of the party is working. We need to try to contact those who signed for Mitt and have them sign somewhere else. Dirty tricks by the website. Check it out.
Go Mitt and John )*

I do love the yesmittvp petition...it's great how it's identical to the nomittvp one. It's a good thing online petitions don't mean squat! Have you seen the number of anonymous names...they are probably just clicking and signing. Anyway...the effective tool the group used was the media....enough to get Fox's attention! We must educate the voters. We have to use the media..and we need money for that. I have one last issue with the PAC pages that I'm almost done with....then we can get some funds raised to buy some media and educate the public on the strength of a McCain-Romney ticket!

I'll donate to get ads up! This huck thing is making me crazy. He is no more qualified than Jimmy Carter was - infact, he might be less qualified. The ruth needs to come out. Gallup had a poll out this weekend saying Huck was the coutnries first choice as veep. Id like to know who was polled? Arkansas?

I'd like to know who was polled as well? I have yet to receive a call from Gallup...

No, as far as I know there is not McCain-Romney site. There should be...
Sorry. I've contacted Sean Hannity and asked him to invite some of Mitt talented supporters from this site and comMITTed to Romney to go H & C. I remember back during the Florida primary Mitt did not get any endorsements from party leaders. I feel that someone should come forward on FOXNews and speak up about Mitt's record while he was governor of Mass.He is under attack. Thanks

I looked into buying domain names in february for all kinds of combos mccainromney was taken mccainmitt was taken.
Also...I was thinking...one of the good things about the attack campaign on Mitt...is that they must see him as a REALLY GOOD THREAT WHO HAS A GREAT CHANCE! Otherwise they wouldn't waste their money.

I agree with unitethegop. Mitt Romney should be #1 on Sen McCain's VP list. I wonder when that list will be narrowed to 5 or so? Go Mitt VP!!

I think what we need to do is to make it very clear to McCain that we - as a large voting bloc, will be voting for Mitt in Nov. We will either vote for him as Veep, or we will be writing his name in. ONe way, McCain gets to be president. The other way, we'll end up with a democrate in the white house.
Huckabee 'statement' about all this was a little wierd. He did not tell his peeps to stop (as mitt might have done), instead he took the opportunity to tell us that McCain won't pick Mitt because of their 'differences'. Well, I've noticed two men acting like adults in recent weeks, and neither was Huckabee.

I also saw where Romney apparently said the ad was "silly". That is good. I also noticed that Huckabee did not advise ceasing such ugly behaviour which speaks volumes to me. The thing that makes me sad is everytime he or one of his spokespeople says he is NOT expecting a call. It is so sad. I would really like him to "get the calll". I say that, but what else is he expected to say, "I am expecting to get a call any minute now"... "oh goody goody, me, me, me, me, pick me". No, better to have some decorum and dignity. Therefore, if not asked, we are all prepared. All that being said, I sure do hope he does get the call.....

The video from Morning Joe revealed the best way to force the issue with Mitt to McCain is to encourage all Mitt supporters to withhold their contributions until he is placed firmly on the ticket as McCain's V.P. I reply to each of the McCain campaign solicitations stating emphatically that I will not be donating to his campaign unless Mitt Romney is on the ticket with him. Money speaks louder than words.

I agree. I get at least 2 a day from the RNC, and reply with the same. I'll not part with my money, until Romney is on the ticket. I need every penny in this econ, and I can't spare any for causes I don't agree with.

Looks like McCain is hurting bad enough to tap the federal funds. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/04/08/mccain-set-to-take-the-federal-financing-plunge/
With this route the RNC can still totally fund him. NO MONEY TO THE RNC UNLESS MITT IS ON THE TICKET! THEN OPEN UP YOUR POCKET BOOKS

Go to my man mitt under "No MITT-ers can dish it out..."
You can visit and add comments to Mr. William J. Murray's blog. He is the one with the anti-Mitt 'ad' and the petition. The more comments in support of Mitt Romney the better...Go there please. Take care.
