I agree that we should judge a candidate by his past actions and not his religion. That is why I overwhelmingly feel Mike Huckabee is the best man for the Presidency. Since McCain has that spot, that leaves the vp position. Now, conservatives have rallied around Governor Huckabee, even those who picked Romney initially have stated publically now they were wrong and should have picked Huckabee to back. While Gov. Romney is a fine man, I'm sure, Huckabee has been consistent, has twice as many yrs as gov. under his belt, has charisma, authenticity and better ideas for the country. That aside, I realize the vp does nothing except break a tie in the senate and be on hand if something happened to McCain. With Mike we KNOW he would go with the conservative vote, where would Mitt go? We don't know. Mike has MUCH better oratorical skills and that would be a big asset as vp.

Well Linda, I completely disagree with nearly everything you said. I say in Mike Huckabee a cheesy entertainer. That is about I saw. As far as governing, I would not want a man in the oval office or anywhere near it who pardoned all the hardened criminals he did. One poor woman whose sister was killed went and talked to him. She sobbed as she told how he promised her he would really consider her request to keep the killer behind bars. She told the interviewer that about one hour later, he pardoned the guy.
As for his great conservtism, I really question that as well.

Did you see Mitt Romney's talk on the 6th of December? I have seldom seen a better talk. Mitt Romney is a much better speaker than most if not all of his [then] competition. Hands down, there is no question about it. He is much more polished and professional. I could never quite figure out what MH's ideas for the country were. I listened and did hear some things, but nothing substantial.

AS far as al the conservatives lining up behind him and not Mitt, tell me why some very heavy hitters like Karl Rove and many others are calling on McCain to call on Mitt to be his running mate. There are many many people calling for Mitt's conservatism and economical acumen in the VP office...

Finally, the VP does more than tie break in the senate. That is quite naive to say that. He is an ambassador, he is in every meeting and has tremendous input... No, no, I hold out a great deal of hope for McCain to do the right thing and get the only man who can do the job in there and that is Mitt Romney... KKSM

Speaking of naive, Governors DO not pardon criminals, the parole board does. Mike Huckabee served as governor for over a decade and yes, he is human so he is not perfect. Nor is Romney or McCain. In my opinion he IS authentic, consistent and principled. I'm sorry but Romney ran negative smear campaigns against McCain, Huckabee and even Guiliani. Noneof the other candidates could stand him and his own hometown newspaper backed McCain over him. He paid Club for Growth to distort Governor Huckabee's record and I can tell you have not investigated Governor Huckabee on your own at all, just reading junk about him. I have investigated all the candidates and Romney changed his mind on everything to run for president. He told plain out lies, marched with MLK, then didn't, was an avid hunter then wasn't , did't run ads saying McCain gave amnesty then oh he didn't know the ads said that! Reagan was a saint and would surely endorse him, but oh wait, Romney was an independent during Reagan's time and didn't even endorse Reagan! He doesn't even know what he believes so how can anyone else know. Plus, he blew up at the slighest thing. Temper is a dangerous thing for someone in power.Idon't like to say negative things against any of these candidates because they all are working hard to serve the country but you started it. To top it off McCain just does not like Romney and if McCain is anything it is honest. He would never have Romney as his vp. That would go against the very grain of cloth he is cut from....

First of all, Linda, I wonder what kind of person goes to a website dedicated to Mitt Romney and starts telling how "wonderful" The Huckster is. A person who is either not very bright or . . .. . . . . hum-m-m-m-m can't think of any other reason.

You are right, the governor does not parole criminals. . . . .however, when the Arkansas parole board refused to parole the rapist/killer that Huck had promised to pardon (when he was running for Gov.), then Huck met with them behind "closed doors" . . . . all of a sudden they changed their minds. Then Huck stood up in the debates and kept spouting that line about "the Governor doesn't parole criminals" ad nauseum.....knowing the entire time that he was responsible for that man being paroled. It was disgusting to me.

Go google your man Huck and look him up on Wiki-pedia. You will find out some things you won't like. Like how he FORCED the sheriff to drop charges against his son. Charges for brutally mistreating and killing a dog on a boy scout trip. Because the sheriff didn't want to do so, Huckster later had him fired.

And how about how he trashed all the hard drives on the computers in the govenor's office when he left. His office in Arkansas and his office in Washington, DC. Wonder what he was trying to hide???

It's all facts, go look it up. Educate yourself. HOwever, I am sure you will find some reason not to believe it. It's hard to enlighten a closed mind.

By the way, the temper problem is with McCain, not Romney. You know you are pretty uneducated about all of the candidates.

I first supported Huckabee, because I thought he was such a strong Christian. Do you know who convinced me he wasn't??? He did!! In every debate he sidestepped and evaded the issues until I thought I was listening to Bill Clinton all over again.

For your information, Romney's father DID march with MLK in Michigan. Do your research!!

Also, your's is the first rude and ugly comment I have read on this website. Please go somewhere else to spew your angry, misinformed venom.

Go to a website dedicated to the Huckster, if you can find .

As for us, we are Romney people, all the way!

      GO MITT !!!

Romney's own spokesperson was on tv after Romney made that comment and he admitted that Romney nor his dad marched with MLK. Said Romney was meaning that mehaphorically or some such nonsense. I am sorry if you do not like my enthusiasm for Governor Huckabee but the topic said who is good for McCain's vp? I didn't know Romney controlled the market on that topic. I will not be back to this comment page.....
