Dallas Paper is Thinking Along Similar Lines as Our Site "A Vote for Huckabee is a Vote for the GOP's Future"

We are not the only ones who feel we can make a difference by voting for someone other than McCain.  The Dallas Morning News said that although it's mathematically impossible for Huckabee to win the nomination they are trying to make a statement to the GOP, just as we are.  I believe there are MILLIONS of others out there who will vote for Romney if we can just let them know- by voting for him we are making a statement to the GOP.   We need the GOP to wake up and realize the party is split, and conservatives aren't happy with McCain as our only choice.  The ticket will need to balanced to gain my vote in November. First visit to this site - so happy I found you - I keep hoping for a twist of fate that will bring Mitt back to us. My husband and I worked on his campaign in Florida and I remain in touch with his brother in law by email. We WILL NOT vote for McCain UNLESS Mitt is VP - even better - the President. He brings the best experience and over all credentials and demeanor to race and this country.McCain CANNOT win against Obama without a STRONG VP and no other candidate will bring the public recognition or the experience that Mitt has to offer. The RNC had best wake up and fast as they are losing ALL of their loyal supporters(money folks) We "do not like to lose" either and I for one will not give up until "The Fat Lady Sings". How can I contact you separately from a comment section?

Good Afternoon everyone! Yes, as a resident of the Dallas/Ft Worth area, I have read (with mild disgust) the Dallas Morning News "endorsement" of Huckabee. However, as you actually read their endorsement, they are absolutely, 100% WRONG on their "reasons" for endorsing Huckabee over McCain. First of all, they actually "agree" with Huckabee's stand on illegal immigration, (not so much different from McCain) go to: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/opinion/editorials/stories/DN-huckabee_02edi.ART.State.Edition1.464b62c.html
The Dallas Morning News is no longer a "true" conservative paper. Please read the reasons 'why' they chose Huckabee. Please share your thoughts after reading the "actual" editorial.

    Thanks!

Well, Frank, I certainly agree with you about the papers reasons for endorsing the "Huck". And I don't really like Huckabee, HOWEVER I do like anything that keeps votes away from McCain.

I don't care why they don't vote for McCain, as long as theyDON'T vote for him.

I'm aware of Huckabee's stances. I still feel as I said before. Huckabee is a puppet with no real legs to stand on his own. I agree with Rebecca. We really want everyone to vote for Romney! I just want the GOP and McCain to realize that McCain by himself won't make the cut and he definetly won't win against the Democrats in November without Romney by his side.

I read both endorsements by the DMN. One on Sunday and one today. Why so many endorsemensts? Sunday's stated that Huckabee was "appealing". I responded, yes, he may be now (He's everywhere, TV and the radio here in Houston). He was mean-spirited back in Iowa with all the anti-Mormon sentiment. He got Mitt Romney out of his way. I am like an elephant(even though I weigh 118), I don't forget nor do I forgive. It takes alot. Anyway, next time I visit Dallas and I do go there often, since my daughter was born in Dallas, I will not pick a copy of the DMN. Not anymore. Thanks you.

I don't want to throw any "gloom and doom" on our parade, and yes, I most DEFINITELY hope, pray, and wish, that McCain would actually DO the "right" (pardon the pun) thing in selecting Gov. Romney as a running mate...however, I have watched Gov. Romney's endorsement of McCain over and over again...I am NO "body language" expert...(WHERE is Bill O'Reilly's body langugage expert when you need her!!) but it is my humble opinion that McCain did everything but look at his watch, and seemed to REALLY want to get out of there!! Anyone else getting these vibes??? Your thoughts??

Well, I felt that McCain was NOT happy with the photo op mainly because Romney was getting much more applause and a MUCH better reception than he was.

And I thought that Mitt looked like he would rather shake hands with a snake (if it had hands), but was forcing himself to do it for the good of the party.

I also believe that McCain had to offer Mitt something substantial to get his endorsement (like the VP ??) And I feel that Mitt really, really has distaste for McCain, but is willing to do this for the sake of the party.
And for the sake of preventing the Dems. to win the white house.
      Go Mitt!!

Undoubtedly true! (I hope!) Listen, I DO NOT want to "rain" on anyone's parade, here! No way! However, Rebecca, I hope you're right! I KNOW Gov Romney WILL do what is "best" and "right" for the party and the GOP. However, we don't know if McCain will. Furthermore, history is replete with [former] presidents "getting along" with their VP's, i.e., FDR had what? 3-4 different ones till he picked Truman; Ike almost bumped Nixon off the ticket in '57, if not for the "Checker's speech." JFK best buds was LBJ -- not! And Reagan did the 'right' thing for party and GOP in selecting Bush 41. We'll see if McCain has any "Reaganism" in him, and DO the right thing for party, the conservative movement that has now been left to him. We'll see..

but I have my doubts and reservations.
Besides, we all saw (I assume) how McCain treated conservative talk show host Bill (?) Cunningham when he attempted to 'fire' up a McCain campaign rally. I still can see the 'flip flopping' democrat ads this summer and fall. "Voted AGAINST the Bush tax cuts - TWICE-- Now he wants to make them permanent...Has'nt he learned yet?? - Vote Hillary/Obama '08" You get the drift. This is what happens when the "elite" and "drive-by" media selects our candidates.

And finally, (I'm a roll again!!
I again partially blame our so called "conservative" movement. We conservatives (present company's excluded)did NOT get on the Romney bandwagon soon enough!! The majority were split (why I don't know...) with Huckabee the so-called "social conservative," and then they half heartedly jumped on the Fred Thompson bandwagon (that was going nowhere) and at the very last minute, (too late) conservatives finally "got it" and jumped on Gov Romney's. But with Thompson still in, and Huckabee refusing to leave the race, we saw what happened. The Duncan Hunter's and the Tom Tancredo's (oh! We need to thank Tom for his endorsement of Mitt!) this is where we ended up!

I think conservatives are realizing that they can no longer be a silent majority and sit back an wait for someone else to do the work because it might be too controversial . I also think this election has opened the eyes of quite a few voters to realize that it's not all about the general elections AND what the drive by media says. These Primaries and caucuses- and non presidential elections make a huge difference in who our choices of nominees are going to be- and the legislation that gets passed, because many Americans are too "busy" to get involved or just don't want to take the time to become educated on how the process works and HOW THEY CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! We are going to build this site so well that anyone who wants to support conservative leadership and values will be able to simply get involved and make a difference in their lives and the lives of our children. Enough preaching

On the contrary, NEVER enough preaching!! That is the ONLY way we get our message out to others, and without rancor and name callling, and/or personal attacks, debate/discuss the issues politely on WHY they support and/or endorse the way they do. Like minds and changed minds (with facts and knowledge) will put Gov Romney in the White House.

    Thank you!! (I'm blushing! )
But really, we conservatives had better figure out (next time, say, um, 2012) to "actually" get behind a conservative (Mitt Romney comes to mind) as we did after "almost" obtaining the 1976 election with Reagan over Ford. Ford lost to Carter due to his pardon of Nixon, and no real conservative principles. (Yes, I can remember that election...I voted in that election) But hey, it took us Jimmy Carter and an abhorent ecomony and standing in the world to bring us Reagan. It took us Bill Clinton and the threat of "Hillarycare" in 1993 to give us the first GOP controlled Congress in over 40+ years. Does it take an "Obama/Hillary" to give us a President Romney in 2012??? (And hopefully a GOP controlled Congress in 2010??)

IF the answer to these hypothetical questions is a "YES!" Then it is truly a very sad shape of affairs we are in to actually have to go through a tough recession, high interest rates, high unemployment, and the usual democrat economic principles and so-called "stimulous" package, knowing full well they don't ever work in a free market, or capitalistic society, and haven't worked anytime democrats attempt to implement same. The question that truly needs to be posed to either Hillary and/or Obama is simply this: "Since the federal govt (i.e., the democrat party) has bankrupt social security -- and has bankrupt medicare/medicaid -- and has literally bankrupt the social fiber of our country -- WHY on God's green earth would we want the federal govt (i.e., democrats and/or republicans) to take over healthcare????" What are the odds (based upon this track record) of bankrupting that too in the not so distant future?? hmmmm?

We unfortunately have become a 'reactive' society, rather than a 'pro-active' society. These so-called Obama supporters don't even have a clue!! Ask any Obama supporter between the ages of 18-25 the following question: "Name just one thing -- ONLY one thing -- that the Senator has done during his 2-3 or is it 4 years in the Senate?" The answer is-- "they don't have a clue!!" The answer is -- nothing!! Isn't it a little late to be asking the president-elect his position on taxes, healthcare, and other democrat/socialist programs they plan on implementing??? It's kind of like attempting to purchase homeowner's insurance AFTER the tornado blows your house down. "I didn't know he was going to do that????" "I didn't know my taxes were going up????" You get the picture.

You are exactly right! We have become reactive instead of proactive in every aspect of our lives. It's true...so many people don't even bother looking voting records of nominees...it takes too much time for most people. I think that our PAC that we are forming will be an excellent middle ground for voters who are seeking an informative middleman between them and the politicians. Our site will be able to educate Conservative Americans on how to find this information and make decisions for themselves, or participate in whatever stances we take, knowing that we are pledging to uphold conservative values, leaders, and principles with upmost integrity.

There are also websites by preacher who support "the Huck" making ugly comments about Mormons.
