Voting for Romney is NOT giving your vote to the Democrats
I've had several questions on this subject and want to clarify my thoughts, plus get your input on the subject. These are the primary elections not the general. Before the suspension, Romney had 4 million votes to McCain's 4.7 mil. McCain won several of the winner take all states where even if the vote was split almost 49/50 the 49 lost out. McCain has secured enough DELGATES. if you add in his projected delegate count wins, and if Romney brings his delegates to the table McCain will secure the nomination. That's why voting for Romney is still crucial. We need Romney to continue to pick up more delegates and for the GOP and McCain to realize that the conservatives still want Romney. It also keeps votes from going to Huckabee. What are your thoughts?

Voting for Romney will let the Republican Party know that Conservatives believe in the power behind "standing up for Constitutional principles" and that conservatives answer to a "higher power" as to how they stand up for those principles and not to the whining of moderate Republicans. That is the separation between those who stand up and defend conservativism vs those who give in to the lesser of two undesirable choices.

I agree with Cherokee. We simply have to let the Republican party know that our FIRST choice was Romney. Then they will have to put him on the ticket.
Best of all possible worlds, we have a brokered convention and Romney goes on the ticket as Presidential nominee.
That would be so great!! But if not that, at least the VP.

I think that is the best thing for every Romney supporter to do. Huckabee is every bit as scary in the white house as McCain is. If Romney is in the White House as the VP, he can keep an eye on McCain and then run for president in 2012 and re-election for 2016. That would mean that we could have a finacial wizard looking after our economy for the next 12 years. People that haven't voted yet, VOTE ROMNEY. Our country needs him more than ever now.

You are so right, Barbara!! I agree with everything you said. But in my heart of hearts, I am still hoping that when it gets to the convention, if no one has the required number of delegates, then there will hve to be a second vote. I read somewhere that on the second ballot, the delegates are released from the candidate that they are obligated for. That's what happened in West Virginia.
So I am hoping for a second ballot at the convention, and that the second ballot gives the nomination to Romney!!

Wouldn't that be great. Although, I think at the convention it's if a second vote is required then I believe it's only the super delegates which get to participate. Most of those belong to McCain.

I have read that Super delegates are not bound to anyone. They get to make their own choice on whoever they believe is best for the party. They could go either way.
Maybe we have to pray for a 3rd ballot, it has happened before. And like someone said on another entry, let's all remember to pray!!That counts so very much!!

I like many other voters, felt "robbed" of our chance to make a difference in this election. Yes, I will gladly vote for Mitt in the Texas GOP primary, March 4th! I sincerely hope that every Texan and resident in other states do the same! Romney is our ONLY chance of uniting conservatives! (My dream ticket was a Romney/[Condolesa] Rice ticket!!] Take that Obma and Hillary!

Romney-Rice would have been Awesome! Get the word out in Texas, we need voters to know they can still vote for Romney. Look what happened in Washington State. Romney got almost 17% and McCain 25% That's pretty darn good considering Romney's suspension.
